Hi everyone! I love hearing from you and reading your questions, comments, and e-mails. I've received a few questions about my handbags and thought it would be fun to film a video response for you. So here is my favorite bag, the Balenciaga City.
the black city is one of the best bags ever. yours looks so smooshy and delicious! i smell my bags, too, lol. great job with the video! i really struggle with recording myself. its harder than it looks!
Thanks Amber! It was tougher than I expected! Hopefully practice makes perfect and, depending on whether people like the video or not, there may be more in the future! :)
Great video - you're a natural! I love how you described the different things that happen to the bag over time (the smooshiness, the hardware becoming lighter) as that is something that is not usually mentioned.
We're bag twins - but I haven't had mine for too long yet so it's not yet as soft as yours looks! Have you had any issues with fading? I always worried about the "green" issue, but since reading Feather Factor's post about a bal-safe touch up - I feel much better.
Thanks so much! The chairs are from Ballard -- you can find more info on the chairs (and a link to the product) in this post: http://www.neatbit.net/2012/12/hello-yellow.html :)
You are so stinkin' cute!! Ha ha ha, I just love how you smelled your bag! I've never done that but now I want to go smell the leather on my Bal bags! :) Great video, especially for your first one. You are a natural!
You really do have the best bag collection! Love your video! You mentioned all the things that I consider when purchasing an expensive bag. You may have just convinced me to get this bag next!
Thanks so much for visiting my blog! In reply to your question about F/W shows: I go to most of the shows at Lincoln Center thanks to my articles for a larger online publication. Let me know if you will be there and we'll have to meet up! This season will be my first going mostly solo and it gets lonely! Let me know!
Love the vid - seriously you did great :) And I am now seriously considering the Balenciaga City! I have lovely bags but usually consider adding one or two to the collection every year - this year the contenders are either something from Bal OR Bottega Veneta (not tempted remotely by Chanel and my bank balance says thank you!)
And I bought that leather jacket by The Row at Net-a-Porter on sale - went to 70% off on final markdown! I didn't get the brown, I wasn't sure it would coordinate as well in my wardrobe as the black one, so waiting until the black gets here - hope it looks as good on me as yours do on you!! :)
Oh, I'm looking forward to seeing my jacket - I was sort of having conniptions last night worrying about sizing etc. It's so hard when you buy stuff like that online! But, wait and see :)
I was looking on Matches and I quite like the City or the Town? They had a gorgeous City in a really pretty metallic grey but it has already sold out. I'm also looking at the BV large Veneta in a soft grey and the maxi Veneta in navy on Net-a-Porter - I really like the colour of the maxi Veneta, but I probably realistically could work the size of the large Veneta better. I haven't decided yet, the good thing is there's no rush :)
Hi Bettina! I love that you decided to do a video to review of the bag! :) This bag is totally on my wishlist and the i'm considering it for my first high end bag purchase but i'm in a little bit of a dilemma as i really like the lv bandouliere 30 as well. What are your thoughts on the bandouliere? and I'd also really love to hear your opinion on which bag would be a good first!

Hi Ella, yay bag twins! Mine hasn't had issues turning green, thank goodness. What year is yours?
DeleteGreat review - my city doesn't get nearly enough wear but I'm motivated to take it out now :) I love the smooshiness of the leather :)

Thank you Alexis, and that is so great to hear about your jacket. What an amazing deal!! Send me pics when you receive it!
DeleteI love both Bal and BV but find the leather on Bal to be more addicting. Which styles are you thinking about? :)
